Logos: Part Two- The Corner of Terror

"The Coffee Cup Studios is actually one of two blogs I have.  My other blog is "The Corner of Terror"- where I review horror books, games, and movies.

I've felt for a few months now that it needed something that I could use to publicize, and essentially create a "brand" out of the blog.  One of the easiest ways to do that is to have a logo.

I wanted something simple, but recognizable, and identifiable with the theme of my blog.  The logo above is what I came up with and created.

The process was simple.  First off, I started with the idea of a zombie mascot.  I then used my Logitech HD C270 webcam to take a picture of my face in that rather odd- and stereotypical zombie pose.  I then took a picture of my hand reaching towards the camera.

Once I had the pictures taken, I used Photoshop Elements 6 to erase the stuff I didn't want, and applied the "Stamp" filter to the two pictures.  It gave it that rough drawn look that- to me at least fit in with the genre.  I then used the paint bucket feather to add the green.  For the "blood splatters," I used a combination of paint brush, and paint bucket to colour some of the black spots created by the "Stamp" filter.  The red around my mouth and on the chin are actually the black areas where my beard and mustache would normally be.  After that, I placed a graphic of a yeild sign in the backround, added the text, and shifted the face and hand to where I wanted them.

This logo too me about 30 minutes or so to do.
